Put some VHF and clear on the tail lights.. Wet sanded them till it looked like the picture in taco bills how too's list.. Buffed rubbing/scratch remover compound into buffed off.. Well they got shiny but the scratches are there it's doesn't look clear so idk what I did wrong I waxed them after as well so I guess I'm gonna get some 2000 grit and try to sand them again sand try again with some better compound? Maybe that will work idk but I don't like seeing the scratches it's very crappy looking

It's the compound. I had the exact problem with my headlights.
Use meguiars ultimate compound and buff again.

Oh ok well that's good news should I sand it again or just wipe it down with something to take all the wax off now?

If its already sanded to where there's no bright spots just hit it with the compound. I buffed mine for around 30 minutes a piece then another 10 with wax.
