keep in mind this is with the tune required CAIs, the no tune required ones that OP got get quite a bit less, not sure how they behave with a tune... would be interesting.

As soon as I get everything in, I'll let you guys know how it works for me. Shouldn't be too much of an issue. Looked up the video on AM and with the BBK CAI and 93 Race tune, their dyno read a 20-ish increase in HP and 30-ish increase in TQ.

If you want an effective tune I would suggest skipping the mail in tunes and going with a custom dyno tune... I know brenspeed (closest to where I live) does some good work, and I'm pretty sure their tunes will net you a good amount more than any generic bama tune (no offense, I use them too lol).

The CAI alone will always make you run lean... I wouldn't bother without the tuner giving it spark timing/fuel compensation for the extra air.

Good luck on the tuner, glad to see you are getting around to your first mods! I know I was excited when I first started too.

Congrats OP!

Yep, those "No tune required" CAIs won't net you hardly anything. You get what you pay for.

Expect ~20hp with a cai/tune on 93 octane. I understand that you're dad doesn't want to spend 500 smackers on a cai/tune, but have you ever considered giving him some cash and asking him for a cai/tuner combo for Christmas or a birthday?

You'll notice a big difference with a tune, start saving up!

Or unless you are in college, if you can't find a job give the military a thought, and you'll have your own constant supply of cash to spend on mods. And with no bills, you'll be saving for some big power mods.

Big difference between a "canned" tune and a custom tune, and not muh difference in price.

Grats on the first mods and on your 21st bday. Its true, if you could find a good place (good being the key word) to get a custom dyno tune you will be better off. I will have to use the bama tunes when I finally start modding due to the lack of a dyno near me.. or atleast the lack of a good speed shop. Good luck!
