Yep, at 40K miles my TB was also dirty, dirty.
Some CRC TB cleaner and compressed air really
did the trick. I am convinced that my high RPM
trips are cauling some blow by and a oil seperator
is next on the list of mods.

I can vouch for the oil separator. I put one on my 427R three weeks ago, and there is about a 1/2 inch of oil on the bottom of the collector (collector is about 1.5 inches in diameter). Had no idea that much oil was getting through.

Some throttle body cleaner, and get an old stiff tooth brush with a stiff handle Works wonders quickly and you don't tear up your hands. Especially when cars come in hot from being on the road for an induction service.

Using a 'tootth brush' or any other type of brush is ill advised.
Sounds like this ASE certified technician didnt learn much...

Just wanted to enforce to you folks to use only CRC TB cleaner.
The other brands often have chemicals that will eat the protective lining you cannot see that the TB has on it in our cars.

CRC is safe for automobiles with the coating.
I try to post this every time I see a thread about cleaning the TB.
Just a friendly reminder!

Not ASE cert yet. Don't have the shop time yet as I'm only 19. It's Ill advised by ASE and I did learn today ford's TB is a wee little bit different than Kia LOL. Just thought I could save the OP some time, but it's all good now
