Default Plastidip questions

I have been planing for a long time to get my gt emblems, pony on the grill, spoiler and my rims painted black, the chrome lip pf them anyways. Well since hearing all the buzz about Plastidip, I'm thinking that might be a cheaper and better option.

where do I get it done at?
does it come off easy?
is it cheap?
any down sides to it?

thanks for the help.

You can find the rattle can at any hardware store (I think black, and a few other colors are offered). It comes off pretty easy, just youtube some vids, it peels right off with no residue.

About 10 bucks a can (probably less).
I haven't used it on rims or anything, but IMO if it comes off that easy I would imagine putting it through any more than one winter or more than 6ish months will cause it to start peeling. Most members who have used it say otherwise, but I still think its one of those things that needs to be re-done every once in a while...

You could easily do the rims, emblems, and grill. But I think the spoiler would be pushing it IMO. Paint is better suited for that. Good luck dude! Post pics when/if you do it.

In order...

You do it yourself - buy the plasti dip at Home Depot or Menards or somewhere like that

It won't come off EASY. People do wheels with it so it is pretty durable.

It runs about 5-7 bucks a can which is MORE than enough to do emblems

Downsides - won't look as good as having it done professionally (don't get me wrong, it'll look good), won't last as long

As aaquib said, spoiler is pushing it.

Thanks for your input. you talked me into getting the spoiler done by a pro I think I can handle the emblems and the pony, I'll wait and get different rims I am tired of the ones I have and I really want black Saleen wheels anyways.

Why not just paint the emblems yourself?

yeah I though about painting the emblems, would I get the paint at autozone?
Adidas your one post actually made me want to use Plastidip rather then paint.

Yea you can just get a black gloss or flat paint at autozone or advance. I always use a self etching primer before I paint stuff and it comes out great. I think the primer I use is duplicolor and its green.
