go with the 550 hp whipple h.o. use the tune that comes with the voucheur with the kit. mine made 469 rwhp and 442 rwtq. on a mustang dyno. get aluminum DS, DS loop, some lca's and an adjustable uca, relocation brackets, a hurst shifter, and a set of MT et streets. leave the gears alone. You will have to get some seat time also!!

The strip is hard on any car. I have a good bit of knowledge on Turbos especially on S197's. I have no official credentials but I do possess some 1st hand experience. Any question you have just ask.

If I were to build a S197 for the strip, I wouldn't touch an overpriced supercharger unless it were centrifugal.

I quote SirKnightTG when I say, "Here's what 5R55S stands for: 5R55S (5speed, Rear drive 550 tq rating multiplied @ converter) Short ratio".

I would assume you're good to 550 ftlbs tq

You should be able to run the stock trans for a while. I've heard of people @500rwhp running them hard with absolutely no problems. (not to say this is the case every time)

and to get your into the 11's I dont think the power levels are gonna hurt your tranny. Definetly do a torque convertor as that is one of most unappreciated mods u can do for your car. Atleast its not mentioned much. And if you dont have a time table brenspeed has half off deals for installations in november and december. They might even have them in Januarary. When I had my saleen installed last year I think it was around 300 and this year when I had them do the stage 3 it was 100 bucks or something so u can do stuff cheap just gotta be patient and always watch for those little sales they have. U would be pressed to find a great shop like brenpseed to do a supercharger install for a half price what they normally charge. Hell Ive heard of guys paying 1k. Thats ridiculous
