The reason you probably would want to get a new shift ball is because the stocker looks kinda terrible and the thread size is different from almost all aftermarket shift *****. If you don't want to get a new shift ball, then make sure you get the proper threaded rod for stock shift ball. When I ordered my ball, they threw in the stock threaded rod along with the aftermarket one because there was a delay with the ball.
