Default Couple of questions need help

So I bought my 06 4.0 last july and have had a few problems. It has 63K miles on it right now and so far I love it, but I have some issues that came up. The one I am most concerned with is the temperature gauge, sometimes it works as it should and sometimes it does not even move off of cold. I was concerned it was that the thermostat is stuck open or something but the heater works good and the car drives normal and no codes come up or anything. Should I replace it anyways?? What else could it be? Also I have a clunk coming from the front end when I go over big bumps in the road, and speed bumps. It happens most when the car rocks side to side, like when I take speed bumps on an angle. Anything I can check? I already tightened the sway bar mounts as much as I could, and I tried to move the sway bar end links and I couldn't get them to move. What else can I check? THANKS! I have a warranty on the car and am probably just going to take it in if I cant find out whats wrong with it myself but i have a $100 deductible and would rather do it myself anyways.

Check the wiring connections on the temp gauge.

Look in the trunk/spare tire well for anything loose that could move around.

Did you try to shake the rear tires sideways?

The thermostat may be the stepper motor in the gauge?
theres a guide around here somewhere about replacing it

My temperature gauge works off and on as well. I've done some research on the forum and read that it's due to the stepper motor going out. As long as your radiator fan kicks on you are OK. I noticed that my temp gauge doesn't move when the temp is 45 degrees or lower. My gauge did not work today, at all. During the summertime, it mostly works.
FYI, other gauges may start to fail as well. I am not too worried about it, unless my speedometer or fuel gauge starts to fail, then I will replace out the whole cluster.

if you have an aftermarket muffler it may be the muffler bouncing and hitting the underside of the car.

The 05's and a lot of '06's have been prone to stepper motor failures causing instrument to not function. There are quite a few folks that have had their's repaired relatively cheaply. Try doing a search.

The front end noise that you're hearing sounds like the front end clunk described in one of the TSB's. The TSB describes the fix but unfortunately, you're no longer under warranty.
