If you go to CDC's website they have different part numbers for the 05-06 vs the 07-09 V8 Mustangs. I have no idea what the difference would be. I bought mine off eBay and the guy had two of them listed for 05-09 Mustangs. I emailed him to make sure it would fit my 09 and he stated that the shaker will fit the 05-09 Mustangs. That's all I can tell you other than maybe call CDC and ask them if there's a difference.

On the other issue... if YOU like it and it is indeed YOUR car then go ahead and install the shaker. If your wife really loves you then she wouldn't think of telling you not to do something to your car knowing it would make you happy.

And before anyone asks... I've been happly married for 26 years.

If its easier to ask for forgiveness, then who cares about permission?
Opps honey, I dropped something on the center of the hood and scratched it up...guess I will have to install the shaker to get rid of the scratches

Cardinal rule of the universe...there is more than one way to skin a cat, my friend!

After the install you HAVE to get cams...THEN it becomes a Shaker hood.

My wife hates seeing the car apart when i'm installing a mod but after the fact she likes the attention from people when she gets to drive it.

edit-
'Just called CDC this morning and their tech Patrick let me know the difference. He said that there needs to be an extra cutout on the front engine cover. At the lower edge on the passenger side, a half moon cutout will be needed to clear radiator hose that is present there on the 07 that wasn't there on the 05/06.'
whats the difference between the 05-06 and the 07-09 Shaker systems

Dude, you rock...

My google-fu needs practice cause I couldn't pull that up when I looked... Thanks.

I'd love to get the cams, but I think I'm going to **** my neighbors off here soon when I order the SLP Loudmouths to replace my Pypes Violators...

If you trim the excess plastic off the shaker like I did then it won't matter what year the car is.

That looks sweet D'prived!

07-09 Shaker system also states this:
"CDC'S trim ring does not cover the factory hood scoop holes on 2007-2009 factory hood scoops."

But that still does not justify why a new kit was made, if anything I would think they would make a new trim ring to cover up the holes on the newer years....weird.

In the link posted by Hack Job one of the guys says that the only difference is that 05-06 had a ribbed tube going from CAI to the throttle body and 07-09 did not. That doesn't make sense as to why it would even affect the shaker system but he was one of the few that actually gave some form of a correct answer as most of those guys thought the OP was talking about shaker stereo lol.
