Default Since this was such a hit in the street/strip section

I figured I would post this here too for anyone who didn't know or were curious about dyno phone apps.

So I have never done any racing or anything in the year and a half I have had my car. But I have heard about dyno apps for iPhones that will time you for a 1/4 mile and all that stuff including HP of your car.

I wanted to try it so I found one called Pocket Dyno for the iPhone. It seemed to be really accurate and gave all kinds of data points. I would recommend it.

My car is an 09 automatic running on a Bama 87 octane tune with CAI and axleback exhaust. I don't think it did too bad considering what is in it and the road went up and down hill. Haha. But does this thing seem accurate to you guys?

PS: I know the reaction time is crappy. I wasn't ready when my friend started the count down. But it doesn't seem to have made a difference on the times.

That's pretty cool!!
I believe these kind of apps are pretty damn accurate. I remember buying an app similar to your a few years ago, it was $10, but it was supposed to be within 0.1-0.2 seconds accurate in the 1/4 mile. I remember there was a precise way to mount the phone, I would tape it down in my cup holder at a 45 degree angle pointing forwards. I'd like to get it again

edit: i see your topic... i used to have dynolicious.. i wonder which is better

Those numbers seem pretty realistic.

That's pretty neat. Anything could be more accurate than the SCT dashscan thing I have that claims I have around 450hp

I've got the dynolicous app, just have never really had a chance to use it with the Mustang. That said, these numbers look pretty accurate. Very cool.

Dynolicious is another one that is really popular. I haven't tried it though.

Oh.. and if anyone has the Pioneer AppRadio there is an app that will tell you temp levels and all kinds of other things through the radio. I don't know what it is called though.

I may go to a strip sometime soon. I'll run this at the same time if I can and see how they compare.

I am dying to get that radio!! It's definitely gotta be my next mod.

I have Dynolicious on mine. I haven't messed around with it in a while. I test ran it at the track a few years ago when it first came out.. and I remember it was off by less than a tenth. I think it was like 0.06 off or something. That was with the 3.31's in my auto. I noticed it's not as accurate with my 4.10 gears now.. it just doesn't know how to handle all this mad crazy acceleration and shifting haha. I do need to try it again with the new update and stuff.

Lol. Yeah that radio will be my next mod too. My Alpine one started messing up randomly after not driving for a week.

Everyone seems to be using Dynolicious. I'll probably check it out if it's not too expensive. Did you change the gear ratio input on the car info?.. Could have something to do with it.
