Quick Q regarding Fuel Filter

How did you guys dispose of the old filter once you replaced it? I am on the fence with trashing it due to gasoline. Probably a dumb Q but I'll be THAT guy and ask anyways. Have fun poking fun at me

I'll be honest and say I just threw it out...might not be the right policy but I didn't find the "correct" solution in my albeit short search.

^+1. I simply left it out for a day or so (in the hopes that the fuel would evaporate) then threw it in the garbage.

I let my dry completely, probably for a week, then threw it away in the garbage as normal.

This was my plan as well I just wondered if there was a Eco-friendly solution.
