Any benifit in adding an Intercooler to a stock v6?
I found one for super cheap and was wondering if there is any benifit to installing it and if its even compatable with a stock 2005 v6.

Bummer I didnt know exactly what it was I thought it was a beefed up radiator of sorts. I recently got a Roush front fascia and my radiator is all dinged to hell I was hoping that the intercooler would work in its place guess not from what i have read. I just thought 109 bucks free shipping was a steal.

You don't need an intercooler until your supercharged or turboed, and even then, some s/c don't require it (less efficient though).
Why not buy a new radiator? Trade 'em out then put a grille in front of it so you won't get so many dings?

An intercooler is essentially a radiator for the air entering your engine. As a supercharger or turbo compresses the air, it heats up past ambient. So it then passes through the intercooler to bring it back down in temperature. If you're not compressing the air to begin with, you don't really need to cool it as it's already close to ambient.

I think the reason you asked is because you want something to keep the engine cooler. For our cars, that means a new radiator. I honestly have no clue what kind of radiator our cars could use, so if any 4L geniuses know of an upgraded radiator, please post up.

My friend always says "you can't get cooler then ambient."This is what you would run into here. You are using the ambient air to cool the air you are pulling through the intercooler, but the air can't get any cooler then the air you are using to cool it (the outside air) so there would be no benefit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only reason you use an intercooler on a turbo or supercharged car, is because compressing the air heats it up.
