Exclamation tuner yes or no?

I've been persuaded to buy a tuner/CAI combo kit, my question is what are the negatives of using a tuner on your car?

I haven't found a negative yet, lots of positives though. Better throttle response, more power, the ability to check and clear codes, adjustablity for many different options in your car if you add any mods. And it really, REALLY wakes the car up!!

Better horsepower. Better fuel efficiency. Better sound. Rougher idle. And (much) better shift points for automatic. I would even argue better suspension because of the changed shift points not shifting so much

Cant think of one. If you got an auto trans you are really gonna be amazed. Stock setup blows.
Buy from brenspeed or American Muscle (Bama tunes)IMO.

Only minor annoyance I have is that in Missouri I have to put the stock air box back on with the factory tune it to pass my state inspection for emissions, but that is every other year and well worth it for the improvements with the tune.

As for reliability I've put over 150K miles on the car since getting the CAI and tune with no issues.

+1^^

negatives would be going through emissions....I've heard where some people have not been able to pass because of the tunes loaded....not too sure. I guess just make sure to let the person doing the tunes know whether you have to go through emissions or not??

...but seriously, don't let that worry you.

Sounds like you just need your rear o2 sensors turn on in your tune.

He may have a visual inspection, thus the need for the stock airbox. If there is no visual inspection, have them change the tune for rear O2s ON, and I bet you'll still pass pretty easily.
