Default Sounds like something is "loose" in front end??

There's a sound in the front end whenever I hit any kind of bump that basically sound like there's something loose, it's not smooth. The rear is fine but this noise comes from both driver and passenger side. It has done this since I bought it a month ago. There's only 12K on the car, I've had both wheels off and back on and can't see anything wrong. It has been in the shop for some repair on the driver side suspension but shop said everything is good. Is this common with Mustangs?

There's a TSB for the front end clunk but it would be worthwhile to check the torque on the strut bolts first. Here's a link that should get you to the torque #'s. The clunk is one of many TSB's that seem to affect quite a few S197's.

Cool, thanks. I'm more concerned with the safety issue as I have the kid and wife in the car at times. Gives a sence of unease with that clunk!

The following are common 05-09 front-end noise makers:
Strut mounts, ball joints, LCA rear bushings, and loose sway bar links

The clunking I've received from my car was the sway bar end-links not being tightened enough in the front...

I've had the clunck for a year now. Bought some GT500 strut mounts to install but have no time recently.

Worn sway bar bushings are another cause of front end clunking.

Actually I had a problem that sounds like that a week ago. Apparently some washers in the areas where the swaybars mount had broken apart and were allowing the swaybar to move around some.

Wow, I'm glad the TSB page has been updated. It addresses most of my squeaks/creaks!

https://mustangforums.com/mustang-tsb/

OP I'd check out TSB 09-24-16 as a starting point for you.

I haven't checked this list out in a while so I thought I would and
TSBs: 08-24-10, 09-24-16, and 08-3-4 look like they may apply to me.

Guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend! Out of warranty
