Whats my car worth?..
Hi Everyone,
I needed some help with pricing out my car! I currently have it posted on eBay and I have had a lot of looks but no bids.. I wanted to see you guys think. Did I over price the car? Is what I'm asking reasonable? What do you guys think? What is it really worth?..
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
-Danny.

your link isnt working, I had to remove the http to make it viewable ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...t_18417wt_1169 )
that being said .. while the quality of the work on your build is VERY high, people are not willing to pay top dollar for someone elses choice in mods on their project car.
a buyer could either buy your car, which is essentially a mustang GT in shelby clothing (which some people would have an issue with), or they could buy an actual gt500 - you know, one with a larger engine with a blower on it.
do I think your car would fetch more then a standard used GT from 2008 ? .. you betcha. do I think it would fetch as much as a used gt500? not even close. you have to look at what you are asking and what cars a buyer could buy in that price range, and I don't see someone choosing your car over other options.
I'm not sure you want to hear what I think the car would really be worth. I'd see it realistically selling anywhere from 20k to 26k. you sunk a lot of cash and love into that build and it was done very cleanly, it's just not going to be worth as much as you want it to be worth. typically, I advise sellers to sell their aftermarket parts off and return to stock, sell their mods separately to recoup a larger part of their loss .. but I don't see that being viable for you, it would not be a small task.
I am but one person's opinion, so don't be too discouraged. your car is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay. you might find that one buyer that absolutely loves the work you did to your car, and is willing to pay a premium for it.

I looked on cars.com and found 4 actual Shelbys in my area in the low $30's. Awesome looking car but I think it's a little too high. If it were my car, I'd be removing the reserve at the current bid of $27500. Good luck!

I think you should aim for the high end of the blue book value of a GT. It's very nice ride, but I agree that with the mods you've made, they add little value to a used car buyer. I'd also add that if you plan on selling it, just keep it ready and a for sale sign on it for longer than you would if you did not have the mods in place. Now you are looking for a more special buyer.

Your car appeals to a very small demographic of buyers, unfortunately. GT500 tributes are not for everyone, and custom mods on top of the GT500 parts lessen the market even more. I'd expect that you could get mid-upper $20Ks if you can find the right buyer. Good luck!

I agree with all the above posts. On ebay people are either looking for a steal or something collectable. Yours, while being a great looking car, is neither. When someone can buy the real deal GT500 for almost the same price you will have trouble moving the car. Good luck.

first off, its your car, the only one who needs to like it is you. if you choose to dump tons of money into it then you are likely not to recover it the more highly personal taste it is.
then again, you only need to find the right person that shares your taste and for him it will be a bargain, good luck to you, w ebay you talk to a wide range of audience and possible buyers.
now impo "tribute" is just another word for "fake". lets just call all the fake rolexes tribute and its all good??? i'd pay more for a stock gt than for yours, but thats just my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback.. I understand what is being conveyed. The 27,500 price tag is at no reserve.. I will take into consideration all of the information that was given and maybe come back with a better price point. We'll see how the auction goes..
I will keep everyone up date on what happens..

First of all you have done a great job with that car. Its looks gorgeous, but like some of the others have said. I have a problem with all the Shelby badging when its not a shelby. Seats, hood, floor mats etc no problem, badging has gotta go.
I think its worth high blue book for a 2008 GT.
