Default Stock 17 gt rims

I just bought a set and the tires on them are 275/40 rear and 245/45 front. They are nexxen brand. is this what came on them or did the guy put bigger ones on. How big should I go when putting new tires on.

I thought all of the OE 17" wheels were 17 x 8. If so, that 275 on the back is unsafe. 255's are as wide as recommended by tire manufacturer specs. A 275/40/17 requires a 9.0" or 9.5" rim, minimum.

When I buy new tires I'm thinking 255/45 in back and 235/40 in front

IMO, 255's all around. If you want to stagger and look good, go with a 9.5" wide or wider wheel.

I'm running 275's all around. No rub. 255's are the OE tire on quite a few S197's.

Yeah that's definitely not the stock tire size.
