Is it normal that clutch pedal is hard to push in?

V6 or V8, it's all hydraulic on those S197...
The six banger is tougher because it uses a cheaper primitive clutch and transmission (T5).
Look on the bright side, you can get a work out for free while driving your mustang.

yes, the clutches on the 05 V6 is a good bit stiffer than most cars. My wife's clutch in her 2000 VW Passat is so much easier to push in. My wife hates driving my car, which is OK with me. =-)

I think the clutch pedal effort is a bit heavy but I actually like it that way. Test drove a new Jetta for my sister and the clutch on it was lighter effort than its gas pedal (NO exaggeration). It felt absolutely lousy and she ended up going with the automatic trans. as a result.

I drove a friends Sentra SE-Retard and the clutch in that thing was soooooooo light compared to my 09, my left leg gets a work out every cruise...

What if I get a new clutch? will the pedal be easier?
anyway it's 140k miles and may need a new clutch.

If you put a factory one (about $700), it'll be the same feel.
Maybe the aftermarket ones have improved pressure plates...
