Default Hey Mustang Forums - New Guy Here - Want to Learn!

I am 17 and just got my first mustang. A 2010 Red Mustang GT w/ Track Pack. I love it, but want to give it a little pick up. Here is what I was looking at. Thanks!

Opt 1:Steeda CAI+ Bama Tune ~ 800

Opt 2: Roush CAI + Flowmaster American Thunder Axel Back ~550

Opt 3: Pype Super System ~ 600

Opt 4: Borla Atak Cat Back ~919

900 is really the top of what I can spend ATM, so if not the listed items what would you suggest? I love the sound of those borlas, just wanted to know from people who have real world experience with them.

You're in a very good forum and the people here are great. Unfortunately I really can't give you "real good advice" compared to others more experienced in this forum and also because I haven't driven my new Mustang yet. However, I did buy 90% of my modifications thru American Muscle and that's a very great site with outstanding customer service.

I know alot of people in this forum have suggested in various threads that a CAI and Tune is a good mod to start off with. Your selection looks pretty legit though. In regards to the axle back, I ended up getting the Roush Axle because I've read so many positive things about it.

Good luck with your choice and hopefully you get some better responses..

It all starts with a handheld tuner my man, first thing on the list for sure. Now the way I understand it the '10 model has a pretty good stock air box, so you might bypass an intake for the exhaust and go tuner/exhaust combo. That would save you some money and leave you with a couple of hundred for some stuff to make her sexy
Can't really help ya with the borla, I have pype violator a/b's and love the rumble they produce but I have heard nothing but good things about the borla's.
Congrads on the new ride bro!

I would personally never drop that kind of money on a catback exhaust unless that's truly what your heart is set on. I bought the Pypes Pype Bombs, and I absolutely love them.

As Mayo pointed out, the 2010 intake is pretty good already, so if I were you I would probably spring for a cheaper axle back and a tuner.

Happy modding!

First stop is the tunes / tuner. Don't worry about the exhaust right now.
