Question modified stock h-pipe?

Has anyone modified their stock h-pipe to be able to have long tube headers, or is that pointless and should just replace it?

Pointless. Replace it. Not only are they different lengths, but they have connect to the manifolds/headers differently.

Ahhh...it may be pointless but is it possible for smog reasons? Sure the long tubes themselves are illegal but maybe I could swing it if I had factory cats still...
