Bit of Curb Rash on the Tires...
Well - I really can't decide when I need to get new tires.
I noticed a tiny bit of curb rash on one of the tires after I was forced to either curb it or hit some van taking up more than 1 lane.
It really isn't much - hardly noticeable at all - but I inspect my tires monthly.
Not too sure how old my tires are, either. They came on the car and other than the curb spot seem to be in pretty immaculate shape.
The tires are Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500s, and they grip better than any of the tires I've driven on previously - given that I've never driven with Pirelli's.
So - what do you guys go by as far as when to replace the tires?

When my tires get to 3-4/32s. When I notice they're getting "noisy". If they show any hydroplaning, Etc. The tire institute says you should replace tires regardless of tread depth every 5 years because the rubber gets hard with age. A little curb scuff is OK. A little tire dressing and you'll never see it.
