Day to day driving.. I love it the way it is.. I rest my head on it and it's completely comfortable... 6'1"... Autocross with a helmet is different... I point it backwards to clear my helmet head!!!
It's a little unsafe but whatever floats your boat. But you'll have to deal with everybody tellin you your headrests are backwards when they ride with you.
