Fair warning on insurance as I'm an agent myself, last year when I was 19 I quoted myself through Nationwide with only myself on the policy and my 2009 Mustang GT as the only vehicle with no accidents or tickets, $3000 for 6 months.. with comprehensive and collision and state minimum coverage from what I REMEMBER. Thankfully I'm not the only one on the policy, nor the only person!

I would still go for a 05-10 GT though, unless you go for a 11+ V6. If you can swing the costs of a 11+ GT, you will never regret the power.

My GT is an automatic and test driving a 2011 GT automatic was amazing. The power difference and pick up even from hitting the gas at 60mph+, the power is almost instantaneous compared to the slow gradual acceleration in mine..

MPGs for me is about 18-20 depending on my foot and the use of the heat/AC.

Funny thing is...most girls do not know the difference between a v6 and a v8...they just know you have a mustang and it looks cool. If you have to have a V8 mustangs to get girls...that is pretty funny.

Mustangs are awesome cars. You'll definitely love it if you get it There is nothing wrong with the older 4.6 GT.

Baker is right about the insurance. They hit us hard with it since we aren't 25 yet. I'm 21 and the insurance on my GT is insane when it's listed in my name. Dad let me put him as the primary driver so that it wouldn't be as expensive though. As long as I don't get a ticket, it stays like that To give you an idea of the insurance difference, my friend, a girl, drives a 2010 GT. She bought it brand new off the lot. She has several speeding citations on her record and a few wrecks too. The insurance is even listed in her name and she is only 19. My insurance is still hundreds of dollars higher than hers though, despite me having zero speeding tickets, zero wrecks, an older Mustang, and the good ol Good Student discount that she does not have - Just because I'm a boy. Check the insurance before you get the car. It's going to be a BIG change.

That said, I love my GT. It sounds awesome, looks amazing, turns heads, spins wheels, and makes me smile You'll find that the mileage of a GT is better than that truck too, unless you literally drive Mach 1 everywhere you go - which is ok too lol
