Usually in the cup holder for me but more so it's not interfering with the seat belt while on my belt clip. Besides, I don't answer it anyway when I'm driving so it could be in the trunk for all it matters. WAYYYY too many accidents due to cell phone use. It simply isn't worth a phone call.

unfortunately i have no setup for my music as 05/06 don't have the aux plug in the console, not really willing to swap head units or so, shaker 500 works generally just fine for me.
for phone i got this http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Sou...ef=pd_cp_cps_0 on my windshield (when in use only) plus the charging cable to the power plug/cigarette lighter, i can talk/hear via regular speaker setting on my iphone when its on my windshield (but the earbuds work better especially when the top is open).
cool thing is i can video-call via skype and switch to foreward camera so the other party rides with me even if they are on another continent

I don't spend the better part of my day in the car so I rarely get calls while driving. I keep mine in the center console. It's got a 12v plug and the stereo in jack so I plug it in, turn on my favorite Pandora channel and let it stay in there.
It's probably partially out of habit. Other "car" is a 98 Jeep Wrangler sport and the doors are rarely on it so having anything in your outside pocket is a bad idea. I watched a few phones travel down the highway at around 75 MPH before I stopped being so stubborn.
