CAI+Tune for highway driving

CAI+Tune for highway driving
Hey all,
What kinds of performance/fuel efficiency gains can I expect with an 87 tune and CAI for highway (70mph) driving? This is my only car/DD and thats the majority of the driving I do.
Would a 93 tune provide better results?
I read that a CAI alone does nothing other than make more noise, in real world driving, true? So a tune alone is better than a CAI alone? And both is the best?
I drive a 2012 V6 with manual transmission and the performance package.
TIA,
BC

There's so many variables, I think it would be difficult to tell. Real world results, I don't think there would be much improvement mpg wise. Get a cai+tuner package with 87/91/93 tunes and just run the cheaper gas to save a few $ a tank. If you wanna have a fun tank once in a while, you can switch to 93.

I am pretty much exactly like you, 2012 V6 MT, I spend most of my time on the freeway, 70 mph or so. I am installing my CAI and Tunes today.
I spend about $4.25 for 87 octane right now and I get around 29 mpg, so that is $0.147 per mile. 91 is the highest octane I can get and it is about $4.45 per gallon, So if I get 1 MPG more it costs about $0.148 per mile and if I manage it to get 31 MPG it is $0.144, so the braking point on economy is right there between 1 and 2 miles per gallon, but at the cost of less then a penny per mile it seem worth the fun factor to have more power even if I only gain 1mpg.
Most of us have to drive to work everyday, you may as well do it with a smile on your face.
I posted all kinds of comments on how I picked the CAI and Tunes that I bought in other threads if you are interested in that.

No kidding. I don't understand how SC is so much cheaper. I love this state! I used to live in NY and they really sock it to you there. Just like Cali. Sorry OP - didn't mean to intrude on your issue here. I run a 93 race tune since it's still affordable for now. And... I have a v6 which needs all the help it can get. :-(

You may see a slight increase in gas mileage, however many do not due to a (sometimes) new-found 'lead-foot syndrome.'
Let me know if I can order you a Steeda CAI & SCT X3 tuner, we do tuning as well.
