Hi everybody! It's been over 20 years since my '****' sat in a Mustang - dad had one when I was a kid. I reached a point in my life (recently) and decided to come back to the 'family' , and give my kids the experience of 'dad's Mustang'. I am looking for some advise for a novice backyard mechanic, and novice driver... If anybody would be willing to share a few tips to look at w/ this car BEFORE I sign the papers I would appreciate it very much. It's an '08 GT 5-speed V-8 and has about 40K miles - looks like it's in GREAT stock shape, sounds great, and does not appear to be 'tired' or ragged out. But me not knowing too much beyond the basics, don't want to get hurt. Are any 'glitches' with the '08 GT to look out for, etc...? Also, as I'll likely have the car in my garage in a few days, I would like to make a few upgrades early. The car is totally stock from all I can see - any performance suggestions on what YOU would do first to beef it up? Again, I appreciate any input...

i went with an 08 as well, by then they had all the kinks worked out, such as the leak into the passenger side. i have yet to hear of an defects in the 08's. my 08 just turned over 40K, after this deployment i will be throwing a charger of some kind on it, theres tons of life left in those motors
