Clicking Sound Under the Hood.

Clicking Sound Under the Hood.
I've had my 06 GT for over three weeks now and I noticed that it made this clicking sound every so often after I turned it on and as I drove it. I was concerned so I took it to the dealer. The guy there told me it was the air conditioner making the sound because it had to release presure every so often. He said that all cars do that and that I had nothing to worry about. But I had never heard another car do this, or at least any car I have driven. I was just wondering if this has also happened to anyone else? My car is an 06 GT, automatic.

I have the same problem, I didnt believe it at first when he said it but I saw a post not too long ago where tons of owners had the same problem. So there is nothing we can really do about it.

Yeah, my '06 GT has done the same thing since day one. You a little *pfft* noise about once every minute or so. Barely noticable, but definately there. It's done it since day one, so I figured it was normal operation. Nice to hear it's not just my car.

2005 GT Screaming Yellow here.
Try turning of your A/C see what happens. I heard mine clicking, still do. worried me. But, if you have the A/C on, look under the hood, front of engine where the belts are. You'll see an arm that moves with fair regularity, making a very audible click every time. Turn off A/C, no click.

I was in a panic about that click, too. Only happens when my AC/heater is on. When walking through my college parking lot, I heard the same clicking, turned around to see an F-150. Everytime I hear that click, I know there's a Ford in the area.
When I asked a dealership rep. (like they know anything) he said it could be my AC unit turning off and on. Whatever, as long as my AC and Shaker500 work, I don't hear a thing.

I have the V6 and it does the same thing. It does it when the Defroster is on in the morning. (Yep, i do get some dew here in PA) But when you shut it off it goes away. I don't know about the A/C. I usually have to windows down, shaker up and flying.

Same thing here... I don't think it's related to the A/C, I've heard the "tsk" with everything turned off. Yes, the music hides it, but it's still there. I'm trying to find the "trigger" so I can have the dealer hear it... hopefully they'll tell me "... it's normal..."...

It is in the AC system. Either the a/c clutch itself or possibly hearing the pressure build in the system when the clutch engages. It is not limited to Ford products either. My Silverado has always done it. 110000 miles and no issues yet.
