Sounds to me like you just want a fast car you can tinker on. Go for it!

Edit: Do you have like those neon lights from the fast and furious under your car? It looks like it in your little avatar picture...

No his fuel line heater were getting a little warm with the weather we been having DUH!!!!

If you want a fox i say go for it but I will warn you, you will get tired of riding that bike a lot really fast. I love riding mine but I couldnt and wouldnt do it every day.

I have piled one up and its not really much you can do when something happens that leads to a wreck, they are dangerous as heck. I got a free ride on a helicopter to the ER that day. Its only the grace of God I am still alive.

I still ride and love it, but wouldnt recomend it everyday, espeically when the summer is over, that 5.0 pushrod is gonna suck that gas on those cold and rainy days. I say keep what you got, mod and learn to get better MPG and save and get the bike 2K isnt that much, you could easily earn that this summer and get you one

Also, with the Fox's, expect to have a few problem that might arise since even the 1993 models are now almost 20 years old. I love Fox's and hopefully will get one to play with in the near future.

I'm getting about the same 'round town mileage with my '08 Bullitt, and it does about 25-26 mpg on a steady highway cruise.

While i know the Fox cars are popular, I think they feel cheap and of low quality, and wouldn't consider owning one for anything but racing. I like the motorcycle idea, but after riding 30 miles each way in 40 degree rain a few times, the bike gets really old...
I say, keep your '06 V6, up the tire pressures, change your driving habits, and get that thing properly tuned up. OR, trade it up to a 4.6 (GT), get about the same mileage and have a V8 under the hood.

Whoa, are you buying premium leathers or something? Lol, I think after boots jacket/lining, sliders, gloves, and helmet I ended up paying less than $600. Bikes can be found at any price range obviously, but I would suggest OP stick with a 250 or 500 tops. Ninjas can be had for quite cheap with the old models and you still get roughly 45-50 mpgs, with more go than any 4.6L will get you.

But if OP is a college student, I think a bike is perfect for his situation, cheap insurance (if the record is clean), storing it is fairly easy and winter in CA is not as bad. Safety is as good as you make it when it comes to two wheelers IMO.
