The dealership can't really void your warranty. They can only deny payment of work based on things you may have done to compromise the system. Even if you put a tune on your car, they can't outright void your warranty. They can only deny work based on the damage that tune may have caused.

Everyone is wrong. Sitting in the drivers seat voids the warranty since your azz isn't OE equipment. "Your warranty is void because of the aftermarket azzhole you installed in the driver's seat."

EDIT: Not aimed at anyone in particular...

Tell me about it. I've long given up trying to get any useful answers since we have some people (not aimed at anyone in particular ) too busy worrying about someone else's warranty concerns to provide any useful information.

Considering you have 55 posts, how far back was "long"?

You HAVE recieved useful answers. They're obviously not want you wanted to hear, such as to get rid of the CEL from removing the cats you need a tune. You don't like that answer.

Bah. Alright, I've had one ****ty day. Not trying to start any dust-up.

I asked in the original post if there were any other option for preventing a CEL other than a tune. I have a co-worker who claims he still has not seen a CEL after swapping in a JBA O/R-X. I'm assuming I wouldn't get a CEL with the Hi-flo cats?

I believe the hi-flo's maintain the O2 sensors so the PCM doesn't "see" a difference. I personally think hi-flo's are a good choice unless you really, REALLY want every cop within 2 miles looking for what they're hearing.

I'm not sure why you'd be so against a tune. It's your biggest performance gainer short of going FI (or doing cams and intake with the LT's) and does NOT void your warranty (unless you get a ****ty tune).

Regarding the tune, that "any problem that can be traced to your mod" line seemed to indicate that they will turn me away if anything at all happens to the engine. They can just say "Ah, it was your tune's fault" and then....

all my mods outlasted my warranty.
but if you mod, you take that risk.
