To Supercharge or Not to Supercharge

I'm looking to buy a used mustang gt, (2006-2010) and wondering if it would be a good idea to supercharge it.

Are you asking as far as performance goes or because it may be a high mileage car?

luckydawg003 04-17-2012 01:22 PM

Since its not my money or car, get a supercharger. But you should probably buy the mustang first.

Entaille 04-17-2012 01:27 PM

that all depends on what your definition of a good idea is.

More deets needed. I'd focus on buying a ride with low to moderate mileage first, drive it a few months to make sure it's not falling apart on you N/A, then see if you want to s/c

Sounds like good advice.

I meant to say i was looking for a low mileage mustang as well, under 40K miles.

I'm currently have my camaro for sell and the buyer's bank called my bank today for the payoff info, so I might be without a car by the end of the day.

But yes that definately sounds reasonable to test drive it for a few weeks to ensure all running fine.

So how much can you expect to gain HP wise installing a S/c?

Just look at the various hp gains vendors have for their products, in general they're pretty accurate. The cut and dry version is anywhere from 9-16 rwhp per psi, all depends on the type of charger and it's general design/quality.

Hey guys, I was looking around for a mustang to buy and stumbled across this one.

Its a 2007 mustang shelby gt
12800
50k miles

the bad, its got a salvage title, but for 12800 is it worth it?

Warpig12354 04-17-2012 04:17 PM

That's up to you and what you might find down the road.

I wouldn't buy a salvaged titled car. But a mustang with a blower rocks. Best mod I ever did.
