How much do you think it should be to have a Ford Dealer to intall new 4.10 gears?

A dealer will always be the most expensive. I would guess $700-1000. I got mine done at a 4x4 shop. They swap ford rear ends everyday. They cost a little more than the regular mechanic shop but I felt confident they would get it done without any whine. I paid $500 but realize I am on Maui and everything costs more here. $250-300 is usually a good price on the mainland.

Yup. Most dealers charge at least $100 an hour labor. Call your local dealer and talk to the service manager. It could be cheaper but I doubt under $500.

I paid 500 and it has never made any noise. Do not go the cheap route and find someone that has done them before

This is good advice.

I went the same route and paid $400 for labor.

OK so i talk to the Ford dealer and he said it would be $1150 + Tax. It was like $350 for parts, $75 for oil, and $725 for labor. He also said it would take 8 hours.
