Default 3.73 or 4.10 for the 6 speed?

I've noticed the past couple days 6th gear with the 3.31 rear end in my mustang runs at a higher rpm than on my old firebird with the T-56 and 4.10. Going 70-75 it's about 1800 rpm whearas the firebird would be loping at around 1300. Is a 4.10 just too much to keep the rpms in the gas saving range on the highway? The car isn't my DD, but I'd like to retain the significant gas mileage advantage over my Z71 for road trips.

I have 3.73's in my car, and I think its at like 2000RPMS at 66 MPH. It doesnt seem that bad. Its all based on what gear ratio 6th gear is in both cars.

I also have 3:73's and driving 70mph I'm at about 2200rpm's. I think 4:10's are too short unless going to the track.

Just my opinion.

Even 3.73s are high for the new 6 speed IMO. The reason they come stock at 3.31 is because the transmission gearing makes the end ratio much higher than the mustang has had in the past
