Default Street Tires VS Drag Radials MPH 1/4

Hey everybody

alright the question is

how much typically in MPH will you lose using a drag radial.

I was using about 15 LBS in my DR and trapping at about 112.

I upped it to around 20 and the MPH went to 115 consitantly.

Running a 275/60/15 MT and the 19" stock tires.

Then this got me to thinkin I know ill lose on my 60' but will i make up for it at the top end running the street tires??

What is everyones personal bests on street tires compared to drag radials?

I know a lot of you are saying just take both and change em at the track but thats not an option haha.

Thanks guys!

There is no comparison between drag radials and street tires. I think the obvious choice would be radials. Who cares what speed you trap if you're running better times? I'll let you know what my Nitto 555's net me whenever I can make it out. Ohio's weather blows donkey *****!

A drag radial is pretty much going to dominate a street tire regardless.

You want to run the lowest pressure where you achieve the best 60 ft. Any lower and you said it, your top end suffers.

So were your ETs any better with a higher psi?

I take mine off when I DD the car and when I'm going to the track I put the DR's on. I only live about 5 minutes away from the track. I'll leave them on on for local car shows too

my ET was a lot better with the higher psi, 60' stayed pretty much the same

my MPH with the llower psi was 110 and the higher was 115.

Im thinkin about switching to a 26" tire the 275/50/15 radials jus a lil smaller tire, keep the MPH up
