Wow, talk about attention to detail....would you do this?

This is what you call going above and beyond just cleaning....gotta give this guy some serious credit. If only I had the time to do that, I so would.

Look (Make sure to check the pictures out on 2nd page as well)

What do you guys think? Would you do it if you had the time?

flyinfunnyguy16 04-26-2012 06:02 PM

If I had the time, and was trying to win some serious car shows, then, dang, maybe? I mean the end result is absolutely beautiful! But that is some serious time and effort for something few will see. I guess I might would be my answer.

Maybe if I was wealthy enough I didn't have to work, or only worked 1-2 days a week :). As it is now, I don't have enough time to make myself that pretty, let alone my car.

pdonket 04-26-2012 06:26 PM

Maybe it sounds stupid, but my time is worth much more than I'd personally get out of doing something like that.

I mean even if I owned a rolls royce, I don't think I would ever be so anal as to do something like that.

To me, the process itself wouldn't consist of something I would consider "fun". I have fun detailing my paint and getting it to shine, but taking the axles off to effectively detail the differential is way past where I draw the line lol.

i plan on it when i get home, i got new brakes and whole new suspension, so i figure while im at might as well clean it up. even if it is just gonna get dirty again. and i probly wont go as extreme as him

McDirty 04-26-2012 06:52 PM

only if I was getting paid I would. Definitely not on a daily driver. My car probably looks worse than the before pictures and may get even worse but there is nothing I plan on doing about it. Unless the rust was rotting through and even then I would just replace the rear end or by then it would be time for a new car.

Nice job on the restore....now get a girlfriend!

BigDinTexas 04-26-2012 07:40 PM

In a word.

No.

I wouldn't do it. Maybe it's just the gear head in me. But my mustang will be driven and driven hard. If the axle get's to that point it'll be time for a supercharger/turbo plus an upgraded rear end.

supergp17 04-26-2012 08:58 PM

I use my stang too much to do that. Maybe if I retire and have a car just for show..
