Default 10-11 Shelby GT500?

Lately I have been trolling the Mustang forums to learn more about the cars. I know my next car will be a Mustang I just dont know which.... Initially my plan was the 50th Anniv GT which will probably be around 35k, then I thought nah I dont want a basic GT I want a 302 Boss which is 38k ish?? Then I figured wtf why buy a brand new 302 Boss when I can buy a used 2010-2011 GT500 for 38-40k

So my question is should I buy a 2010-2011 Shelby GT500? Are there any Pros or Cons about them that I am not seeing? Most threads I found are related to the Coyote and the 6 bangers, not so much on the older GT500s... I know the newer ones have 650hp instead of the 540hp but 40k is my limit for now..

I plan on buying it next year when I come back from my deployment... So maybe by Mar-April 2013 the 10'-11' GT500s will drop even more in price.

Thoughts anyone??

Actually there is quite a bit of info in the Shelby section about the older and newer Shelby's from owners who changed etc.. I have an 08 gt500 so I can't speak First hand in the 10/11.. If you are considering the 10/11 I would suggest go with the 11.. More improvements including alum block etc.. Better handling..as far as any glaring issues ... Just the normal few tweaks here and there that I read all are doing ....overall though the boss is a pretty awesome ride too..I would suggest that the boss will out handle an 11 gt500 on the twisties whereas the gt500 will get you down the straight away faster... It all depends in what you are looking for.. Me I would def choose the 11gt500 and Reccommend without hesitation

basic bolt ons/tune/ wheels will be as far as I go..... my crotch rocket feeds my need for speed

^ that was an option I left out by mistake... I was thinking a 5.0 and Turbo it, but I just dont want to drop the ball on doing the turbo swap if I were to buy a 5.0... I would probably have no time install all the parts (i like doing all the work myself except for engine/clutch work)

Buy a GT and spend $6000 on a supercharger and make as much or more power than the Cobra for less than a cobra.

Coming in at over $52000, in my honest opinion, Cobras are about $10,000 over priced, Sure they're cool, but by the time you pay it off, even with low miles, it'll be worth only around $30,000. Long term investment sucks.

Well my preference would be the 2011 Shelby. I'm a little biased as you can see. I love being apart of Shelby legacy.

I would still go that way if I had the chance. I think it would feel like more of an accomplishment when you finally put it on there.
