Default put a lot of miles on a v6..need help

So for the degree i want it turns out my only option is a college an hour away. I looked into a beater but i cannot afford the extra insurance. I could afford the extra gas with my job. I cant move up there because it is a college town so no job would pay what mine does or give me the hours i need to be able to afford housing. it would be like 21000 highway miles a school year for 3 years (9 month scool years basically) i just want to know if my car can handle it. it is an 07 v6 and by next year when i start at that college ill have 75000 miles on the car roughly. along with the highway miles ill probably put on 4-5000 in city miles a year like to and from my work and to hang out with friends. what are yalls opinions on it?

A lot of forum members have well over 100k on their cars, I know of one with over 200k, if you take good care of it, it should do fine, my car has just hit 110k and I've had no major problems

Just make sure to maintain it well: Regular oil changes, brake bleeding, change the air filter whenever you change the oil, etc.

That's what I thought. Especially since its my understang highway miles are easier on the motor than city bwcauaw its not stop and go. I basically need it to last for the years of college and until I can get a real job in my field which would be hopefully quick because then I could afford a new car

That's low work mileage for me. I typically put about 25k miles/year on my DD just driving to work and then there are the trips that total about 2500 miles every few months plus all the other weekly running around and towing a boat every weekend. Just change your oil and filter at the proper frequency and keep everything else in good shape. She'll do fine.

As mentioned just be diligent on the maintenance. I've owned mine 7 years this week, and just rolled past 190K, so 27K a year. No major issues, synthetic oil changes every 8 - 10K miles. Oh, and good luck with the college thing...when my two girls are done in about 5 years I will finally get to buy a new Mustang.

when i graduate and get my real job i want to be able to buy a new one. if the remodel isnt ugly ill just get a 2016 and if i hate it ill try for a 12 used with really low miles. i just want my car to last me through college.

Cars nowadays can easily hit 200k with preventative maintenance. You'll be fine as long as you keep up with fluid, filter etc changes. There's a bunch of members here with 200k+
