Default Car Washing

I live out of the city and I have well water on tap. This is supposed to be very bad for car paint correct and shouldn't be used? Is there any filters anyone who uses well water has? I really am getting tired of going to the car wash and would much rather clean it by hand. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I've washed my vehicles with well water for years with no problems. Sometimes if it is really hard or has a lot of minerals in it, you might need to shammy.

well water should not harm your paint at all..it just will cause alot of water spots if not dried properly since its probably really hard water.

Thanks guys, and the filter system would be cool, but that's pretty pricy.

Yeah you will be fine with tap water. When I wash my car I always spray it all periodically to make sure it doesn't dry too much in the sun and I spray it all lightly again at the end and dry it off with a micro-fiber towel. It prevents water spots very well. The windows always dry fast so try and go over them first unless you use Rain-X, don't even worry about it then.

You could use 'No Rinse' Car Wash. I use it once in a while. I don't have hard water issues, but every now and then I don't have enough time, but to do a quick wash. The NO RINSE really does a good job, with hard water. You can get it through Amazon. Or www.autogeek.net.
