stock p zero tires worn out after 16K miles
The stock pirelli pzero 255/40/19 tires on my 2011 5.0 GT 6-spd manual with brembo brake package are worn per the indicator after about 16K miles. I am the original owner and drive about 60% highway and 40% city. I drive fairly conservatively - no burnouts, racing, etc.
Is this normal for these tires?

The pirelli pzero were the WORST tire for grip and wear I've every owned... Almost lost it on an interstate on ramp with them.. Had Goodrear Triple treads and NT 555 after them.. both are 300% better!!!

According to the computers at Discount Tire, the P Zero tires should have a 45k mile tread rating. Here is a link to their website. I would check your new vehicle packet that is in your glove box and see what Ford says regarding the tires... If they are covered, that is good, but you need to identify why they wore out that fast in the first place.
Do you have pics? Is it wearing evenly across the contact patch?
I had to replace mine after 36k miles on my 2005 GT, so even they did not last as long as i expected. I replaced them with some BFG's and they gripped amazingly.

The summer only p zero is is more like a true z rated tire. 15-20k miles. Give up tread life for grip. They are sort sticky when warm and handled high speed corners very well. I only got 15k out of my stock ones. Just switched to the hankook evo v12 bc I wasn't paying $375 a tire. Impressed with the hankook in dry and wet traction. And still corner as well or better than the p zero

Something doesn't sound right - I had the Pzero Nero on my car in the 17" size and was getting 50 - 60,000 on them (I have 202,300 on this car, and just recently put the Nitto Motivo on, a great tire by the way so far).
The Pzero's aren't a summer only tire as far as I know and 16K on them is really low.

I've got about that many miles and my originals are cooked. They aren't showing cord or anything, but I was told 4,000 miles ago they needed to be swapped out.
They've got some tread left, but they do more slipping than sticking at this point. Couldn't rotate the tires last time they were so worn.

the p zero neros are the all season with a ridiculously high treadware rating of like 420 i think.
