Stiff clutch after long drives
Hey all, did a forum search but found nothing helpful, so here's the issue.
After a few road trips in the 2011 5.0, I've noticed that after an extended period of driving and not using the clutch (around 1 hr), when I go to use the clutch for the first time (like shifting into neutral on an off ramp) it feels very heavy and slow going both in and out, like it's in molasses. The clutch still functions fine but it's a little unsettling. After pumping the clutch a few times, the feel returns to normal and feels light and springy again. There is no apparent fluid loss and no leaks that I can see.
Can anybody shed any light on this? Also, for the record, the car currently has dot-4 fluid in it. I don't necessarily see this as a "problem," nor is it a safety concern. It could be just an idiosyncrasy of the hydraulic clutch system, but I'm curious nevertheless.
Thanks!

You should bring it in to your local Ford Dealer and have them take a look at it. The Service Manager is in the best position to let you know if there is work needed, and about coverage you may have for it (warranty, recall, etc.).
Let me know the outcome.
