I haven't posted anything about the ordeal I had on here, so here's a short rundown.

I started putting the Hot Rod Cams in last night. We were almost done with the driver's side when I thought I saw something out of the ordinary. I pulled the front cam cap off to find this:







Not good at all. I have a theory on how this happened, but I'm not sure. Fortunately, I was able to get one of my buddies who is an above average welder to come and fix this for me this morning.



You can see on the top left in this picture a little bit that needed grinding.




We grinded it until it fit flush onto the cam, and installed the rest hassle free. Here's a short idle vid for you guys. I think I'm pretty much done with performance mods for now!

EDIT: We changed out the spark plugs while we were in there, no trouble there and I don't have that to worry about any more either.

the car sounds great and congrats on the cam job. i followed the
saga and i'm really glad things worked out in the end.

I'm gonna try to throw it on Monday there's a DIY auto shop in town you can rent a space and use the lift and tools so it'll be much faster there.

Thanks, I have the idle set to 690 on the tune but the tach says it's still idling 750-800.

You guys are killlin' me. I've been considering (finally) to do something to my '07 but we're putting in an Agreement of Sale for a new house and cash will be short. Keep us posted.
