Mufflers

Mufflers
Finally got my first Mustang ever and had a question about the mufflers. I have a 2012 V6. I am looking to getting a lower sound out of the exhaust. Anyone know if I change just the mufflers (not the piping) if I will get a lower sound??

Congrats and welcome to the forum!
Yes, you can replace out the axleback exhaust, which will change the tone and sound more aggressive. Keep in mind, it will not sound like a V8.
I would highly recomment going to youtube and listen to different exhaust sets ups for your make/model car.
You can also check American Muscle for exhaust choices, prices and sound clips.

I spend long hours a day listening to exhaust notes on youtube. You might want to consider an axel back setup if you don't want to change the pipes but beware, you'll want to modify a lot more once you finish your first mod. Congrats on the new car!

Sometimes I'll go on americanmuscle.com and throw everything I want in my shopping cart then I'll sit and pout for a few minutes cause I can't afford it all. lol I know, lame. One thing at a time i guess.

The next mod I would recommend is a CAI/custom tune from a reputable company, such as American Muscle or Brenspeed. This is by far the best performance mod, if you are not planning on going F/I in the near future.
Happy modding!!
