Arrow Replaceing a 2006 Mustang Convertible Top Need some help installing

So i grabbed a 06 mustang its a very nice car and basically the convertible top has very nasty tape on it and basically i will be getting a new top to replace it, now the inside is perfect its just on the side there is loads of tape my guess is there was water getting inside the top is a ford OEM top so my guess is time toke its toll on it.
I will be getting this top to replace it:

Ive been looking all over for a guide to get this thing installed, i know it takes 8+hrs and it should be done by a professional. But i got loads of times on my hands this weekend and up for it! If anyone could direct me to a guide or video it would be great.

Also anyone know what tools i will need i was looking at forums and looks like the 94-04 need staples & such what about these5? would be nice to start ordering the tools i will need. Thanks!

Try this place http://www.convertibletopguys.com/co...1-Ford-Mustang
Looks like they furnish instructions too. I've replaced a couple of tops, not a very easy job. You might check some of the upholstery shops just to see what they charge, good luck.

25 for a guide is better than $1000 for an install.

Exactly! My cloth top was replaced under warranty and given the complexity, the dealer would not touch it and just sub'd the job out to a reputable local upholstery shop.

Funny you mention that. On my last Mustang vert no Ford dealer would touch the roof. But they all told me to take it to the same place in downtown Cincy. Complexity is an understatement. Those guys had my car for a week fixing leaks and testing.

Most installs should be around $375, just for labor. It's not that bad, but if you enjoy DIY, then it's a great project.

Most places that sell tops for the S197 usually will include install instructions, usually available on PDF from their website, maybe you can find a free one to download? The installer I spoke with said installing the S197 top is actually easier than the SN95.

For $1000, that should get you a quality aftermarket vinyl top with installation, 1 day to install.

Yeah I was just guessing on the $1000 figure. I had a new window sewn in and some seals fixed and then replaced the carpet and padding for $1500.

The link Drakefamily2 gave you looked great, for not much more you could buy from the guys in RI, and they even offer free install.
I had the cloth top which is a little more, but it looks so much better, like what the Euro cars have.
I like you love flea-bay, but some things should not be cheaped out on, and a Mustang is one of them.
