Default Window Won't Roll All the Way Up

I have a 2011 Mustang V6. The passenger window rolls down fine, but won't roll all the way up with the door closed. It goes up to the position where it would go with the door open (about 3/4 inch from full up), then back down to almost fully open. If I roll it up with the door open, it stops in the normal door open position, then goes the rest of the way up when the door is closed. There does not appear to be any obstruction or any problems with the motor or switches. Same response when commanded from either the driver or passenger switch. Any ideas?

the manual has instructions on how to reset the windows. I'm not sure of the exact sequence. have you tried this?

+1 for what teepee wrote... I had to do that once on my '05 and the instructions in the manual were very simple.

De-initialization:

Pull the battery cable or window fuse while running the window motor up or down.

Reconnect the battery.

initialization:

Run the window down while holding the switch down for 2 seconds after it is down, then run it up while holding the switch up for 2 seconds after it is up.

Cycle the window up and down 5 times to set the window soft stop for the down position.

The OM is a wonderful thing. And contrary to popular belief, it will NOT burst into spontaneous combustion when exposed to light.

Lot's of good info in the OM. And welcome to the forum. Ignore the sarcasm (like mine) and you'll love being here!

The battery is probably a little low if they aren't going up all the way. It happened on mine and my dads old car.

Or the coefficients of friction and gravity need to be adjusted.

Default Fixed!

Guys, thanks for the outpouring of info! I exposed the OM to the light of day, and determined that automatic bounceback was definitely the problem I was having. I then tried the window again to start following the procedures in the manual for bounceback override, and the window was working fine. Maybe simply having the OM out scared it into submission, or maybe she just needed to rest for a night.

Thanks for the help guys! I'm adding a pic now, but it's just a cell phone pic and not that great...doesn't do her justice.
