Need some opinions
Ok so some may have seen in some of my recent posts that Ive said that Im looking to get either a 2010 gt500 or a 2012 boss. Well I ran into this guy at my base with a 2003 gt and the way he has it, it loks amazing. He has some mods on it now, but said hes got a long way to go on what he's planning for it. Well long story short, what do you think would be better? Im torn between just out right buying an 2000-2004 gt and using money id save on car payments to mod it and build it the way I want. Versus putting a hefty down payment on either gt500 or boss and not being able to do anything with fear of voiding warrenty. (or at least thats what ive heard) SO just give me some opinions about what you all think.

You're talking apples & oranges here....2000-2004 GT vs. GT500 vs. BOSS....
What are you plans with the car? Daily driver, weekend toy, etc..? ...and regarding money, only you know you're financial situation. You'll definitely be able to buy the 200-2004 GT cheap, leaving you money to play with. ...GT500's are continuing to drop in price. You can buy a pretty nice, low mileage GT500 in the low to mid 30's. BOSS's are just expensive, high 30's to low 40's.
Good luck on your decision.

I get the feeling that the entire point of the S197 being totally retro is not a big selling point for you. I wouldn't own a Stang unless it was a restored 60's or early 70's or an S197.
Your choice of the '10 GT500 and '12 Boss is a tough one. I think I'd pick the Boss but IMO, the '10 GT500 should be had for a bit less than the Boss.

Something else to consider depending on your future plans is that the gt500 and boss would likley hold there value better than a straight gt. Also, but I may be wrong but I read somewhere that they would stop producing the GT500.

If you get the GT, you'll just be one more with a GT. If you go with the GT500 or the Boss, you'll be one of the lucky few. Personally, I'd go with the GT500 just because that's my dream car, but the Boss would be just as much of a good choice. Test drive them both to see which one you like best. And with those two cars, who knows, maybe one day you'll have a classic. I wouldn't doubt it if we're nearing the end of production for these two beauties, so make the right choice and go with the Boss or the GT500. Good luck!

Tough comparison. If I were to buy a 2000-2004 Mustang, it would be a Cobra, no question. They aren't much money anymore, but usually have been ragged out. Finding one that hasn't been flogged to within an inch of it's life may be difficult. If I were you, I'd get the GT500.

What are your goals? Do you want something that you can say you pretty much did everything on and is fairly unique (older GT). If you want something you can just get in and drive today, then get the gt500 or boss. Of those two, I'd get the GT500.
I'm wanting to build a drag car and weekend cruiser. Since I plan on having it in the 10's, it would either be a fox or new edge with a roll cage. Actually would like it to be a convertible since it'll have a cage anyway.

Will this be your daily driver?
I ask because my first 'Stang was a 2004 and compared to my 2005, styling not withstanding, the 2005 is leaps and bounds better in terms of the interior fit and finish as well as the materials. It was just plain better to drive around in.
That said, I am a fan of the 2000-2004 models as well, but I would only want one if it was in ADDITION to what I own now. Go for the GT500. I don't think I've ever heard anyway who owned one say they wish they had bought a different model of Mustang.
