Ram Air causing my car to run lean?
Anybody had any issues with ram air hoods blowing directly onto their CAI?
My ram air duct is directly over my CAI cone filter I assumed it would only be benificial having cooler air blowing over it however when ever Im on the freeway and get speeds in excess of 70mph my car occasionally throws lean codes. Im running the 91 race tune from Bama and its awesome my car is running better than ever no pinging or stalling however whenever I hit a huge gust of wind i throw lean codes what gives and what should I do about it?

Shelby had a problem with Super Snake production early on where turbulence from the hood ducting was even causing cars to stall at highway speeds. Apparently the MAF and/or computer wasn't keeping up with the uneven airflow.
What they ended up doing was installing some baffling to reduce the size of the port directly over the airbox. You could give that a try (tape and stiff cardboard should work well enough for a trial).

I apologize for the inconvenience with your tune. I was able to gather your order # from your information & pulled your tuning info. I see that you did not list that you are running the RAM AIR hood. That does make a difference in your tune file because your Intake is getting that much more air.(throwing more air past the MAF Sensor, which can cause lean/rich spikes).
I am going to have my Head Tuning Specialist contact you directly to get you taken care of. They will then have you do some Data logging ect... & get you a revised file sent out immediately!
You will be enjoying your tunes in no time! Thanks for sticking it out with us while we got your issue resolved!
