I'm surprised to hear that about the 555's...I was heading that direction in the next few weeks!

The 97 we bought recently came with a fairly new set of yokohamas. Don't know what model though. Anyway, I really like the grip on those and once Im done with this set of pzeros on the '10 ill go yokos or sumitos. Nittos seem to be a bit of a mixed bag.

I agree on the sumitomo's. I really like mine, just got back from a 1500 mile round trip and was impressed with the tires in both wet and dry conditions.

Come to Florida (Land of the blue hairs), nobody looks over their shoulder when changing lanes! I've been almost hit so many times that I try not to have anyone near me. I actual speed just to stay ahead of the broke neck old ladies.

I've been using the Sumi HTR-ZIIIs for a couple months now, including in heavy downpours, and they have been an awesome tire. I just took them on a road course, and the grip is unbelievable (not even taking into account the low price). They'll be my summer tire from here on out.

It's funny that I came across this, I was looking at tires for when the Pzero summer only's need changing, and came across the Sumitomo's. The 275/40/19's really caught my eye, really good price for what you'd get, from what i'm gathering in this thread...

I have Nitto 555s, they really whine, I'll be looking for a similar quality tire next year but with less road noise
Interesting experience. I have the 555 on mine right now and couldn't be happier. Grip is much improved and I had not noticed loud road noise, but maybe I'll notice now. I have only put about 4K on them so far, maybe the noise will come with age. The Sumitumo HTR Z III that everyone seems to be in love with; are these designed to be a performance tire that performs well in the rain or was that just a bonus? Out here is AZ we dont see much rain, even though we could use it.
