Default GT500 Strut Tower Brace Reinstallation

I removed my Strut Tower Brace to upgrade my CAI and S/C pulley on my 07 GT500; now I can't get it back on. It was really difficult to take off, so I suppose it was sprung. Is it safe to open up the holes so it will fit back on? Or does it somehow need to be compressed?

Thanks!

Isn't the brace a solid piece? Just thinking of it from a physics standpoint... you might want to jack the front of the car up. Unloading the struts might move them farther apart or loading them more might move them closer together. It seems like a low enough risk to give it a shot prior to drilling the holes out.

Yes, it's a solid piece. It's as if when I took the brace off, the car spread out.

I just realized that I don't want to open the holes... that would defeat the purpose, so I suppose I'll have to experiment with raising/lowering the car to see if the suspension loads/unloads.

I'm not sure what to say about not being able to reinstall the brace, never come across that before.....but, I don't recommend drilling out the holes to get it to fit.
