Only once did we send someone packing and that was because the battery clearly had physical damage which is not covered under any warranty.
Well Autozone is the only place that sells Duralast batteries, and it even says on their website that it has to be the original purchaser to get warranty (receipt or phone number). When you sell or trade your car, the warranty is gone. Kind of a cheap move on their part. O'reilly's carries Super start brand.

I see what you're saying 04AZURE.
My dad did recommend getting a trickle charger but if the battery is shot that'd be another $40 down the drain, and more time. It would be nice to have my own jump box but I guess jumper cables is most economical. One thing I noticed that my old battery didn't make that swishing liquid sound like the new one did. Not sure if that makes a difference.

A hot environment, when paired with overcharging, can cause water to boil and evaporate out of batteries.

I think someone mentioned that the battery was ~5 years old, and if it was, it's not a big surprise that it was worn out.

It definetly has to be the battery. It's surprising your battery has lasted this long because battieries from the factory last maybe two years. I just recently replaced my battery earlier this year and the previous one lasted three.

Jas5, I vote alt. I had this same problem last summer in the Oklahoma heat and it ended up being my alternator.
