I LOVE it as a practical car. The interior is very roomy (even the back seat is waaaay better in this generation) and the trunk is HUGE..better than many sedans. Besides that, the suspension is compliant enough that it doesn't beat you up, yet firm enough to be fun. The ground clearance is good so you don't have to worry about scraping every damn thing like with some Corvettes, for instance. And it is the most reliable car I have ever owned. 50,000 miles and virtually nothing has gone wrong.

Probably the only drawback is fuel economy...but you know that going in. I got mine NEW for over $7,000 off sticker, so I more than made up for the extra cost of fuel for the lifetime of the vehicle.

if you live in a climate with no snow, dont really need to carry more then you and a passenger and dont have to drive it long hauls everyday then it can be practical. I look at Mustangs mainly GT's as just toys. my previous 10 GT was just a summer cruiser and would never think of driving it in snow and with 2 kids it isnt good at hauling them either. Just when i pickup a 13GT in coming months it will be a toy as in my area with winters the car is not practical at all and with 2 car seats. so it will be for summer and nice day driving only.

I drive my GT in snow and it does GREAT with a set of snow tires on a spare set of 17" wheels. I see no problem with driving a RWD car on snow, provided you are familiar with the different characteristics as compared to FWD.

Most definitely Yes, I have a friend with the V6 and I have the 5.0. We both love our stangs. I commute 50miles daily and get 20MPG. My friend gets 27+ in her V6 Mustang.

I think you'll find the mustang offers more practicality than most other sports cars. it's the reason why I'm in one and not a vette. : )
