Getting a 2013 V6 Premium w/Performace Package
Hi Guys. I am new to this forum and Mustang world if you will. I have always dreamt of a BMW 335i(my brother and cousin drive it) but lately when i drove 2013 Mustang Premium these are things i liked the most.
1.) 4.2 inch LCD screen with track apps. So fun to measure 0-60..
2.) Sports mode in automatic transmission which lets you shift the gears manually which is not present in any of the models prior to 2013.
3.)LED lights and Pony projector light.
4.) Requiring just regular fuel Vs Premium fuel(as required for other German v6 cars) and also hoping to get a better fuel economy. Hoping i would get at least 19 miles/gallon in city at worst.
5.) Felt like i was sitting inside an M3(my cousin has one and drive it often) although it sounds exaggerating. I can confidently say Mustang is turned into a well refined sports car from Muscle car.
6.) Easy on maintenance expenses when compared to a BMW 335i or Infiniti G37.
7.) Tons of customization's at an easy cost.
8.) Car looks/feels like a male definitely a male which i feel is not the case with other German/Japanese cars and not to mention Camaro.
335i, S4 and G37 might have an edge in terms of performance but when you talk about the actual cost and monthly maintenance that little edge in performance is a trade-off.
Now it is the time to get your advice. I want to buy a Premium v6 automatic with performance package, Club of America and cold weather which costs around MSRP $34,500 on road. I am in DALLAS Texas and i searched all the dealers in Texas and nobody has a car with so many options. Well never mind i am not giving up i want to place an order from one of the dealers. I need your suggestion as to who is the best and what is the discount i can get the most(i know there is $1000 discount). I can haggle but what i want to know is for how much. Can i get a $4000 discount on the price ??? Please help me with your suggestions. Thanks.

Hummm. That's a good question actually. This is my understanding
1.) It's worst in terms of fuel efficiency and requires a 91 octane. Also i terms of car insurance and also monthly maintenance(in terms of Engine oil). This is just my understand please correct me if i am wrong.
Also if i get a mustang Premium V8 with california package Automatic i think it is just about the same price($34500). I am worried about the 5.0 Engine and its maintenance expenses. Please help me understand if i am wrong..

The 5.0
Takes about a $45 oil change -- at whatever interval you chose. I like 5K miles.
The 5.0 CAN run on 87, you just lose a tad of HP
420 on Premium
402 on Regular
A 5.0 premium with CS is going to run in the high 30s. You can go to Ford.com and "build your own"
As for engine maintenance -- it is not going to be much more. You will suffer in the MPG department though...

you can get decent mpg with the 5.0 if you drive it like it shouldn't be driven. I drive about 20% city / 80% highway and I average 21mpg, with 3.73 rear gears. you better believe I am on it often too.
I can't fathom paying that much for a v6 model when I could get a v8 instead. the fun factor heavily out weighs the costs. the v6 makes sense to up until you reach the GT territory price wise. just one mans opinion. : )

My gt/cs was 32,500 and it has 402a option of course, lcd u know all the goodies. I can get 26-28 mpg highway in 6th gear at about 1800 rpm. Ive got stock 3.31 though. Picked mine up in katy texas from champion ford. Honestly i cant see where a v6 would benefit you in enough ways to save you that much cash. Keep lookin bud.

Decide what you want more. Do you want all of the creature comforts that you mentioned? Or do you think you will want more power? Maintenance on the GT might be slightly higher, but you shouldnt have any concerns regarding reliability. Both the v6 and the v8 new motors came out at the same time.
As far as pricing goes, everything is negotiable. But it depends on your negotiation skills. If you're not good at negotiating, expect to pay close to or sticker price.
