Default Sunday not Funday...spark plug change set.

I figure its time, V just hit 30K.
I have read all the stories and hope mine is eventless. V is one of the last of the old plug/head designs, so I'm hoping by the time she was built somebody starting putting anti on the plugs...but I doubt it.
I had to go with the champions, just can't knowingly put another 2pc in there.
Any last minute tips would be appreciated, and for any of the guys that had to use the tool, please be on standby tomorrow if something happens...I will need your support!

Number 1 tip. Be gentle.

Number 2 tip. Go slowly and with patience.

Number 3 tip. Just because they squeal like a stuck pig when their coming out, doesnt mean you have to crap your pants. Reserve that for after you've got the plug out.

Spray carb/throttle body cleaner into the plugs, let it sit for about 20 minutes, they'll spin right out.

If by any chance they don't spin right out, tighten the plug a bit and then loosen it. Keep doing this, as necessary, until it is all the way out. You shouldn't need to use a lot of force.

Buy a can of PB blaster and follow the TSB with a torque wrench. PB Blaster ate right through all the carbon build-up on mine at 65k miles.

If they bind up at all when loosening, tighten them back up a bit, then attempt to remove again. Take your time and they should all back out successfully.

Yep. I had to do that on a couple of mine. Rotate out 1/2 turn, back in 1/4 turn, out 1/2 turn, in 1/4 turn. Worked like a charm even though it was time consuming.

Glad your plug change went well. I just intalled my second set of Champion #7989s in my '06 GT. The first set went like 62K totally trouble free miles. I just instaled another set, with 100K miles on the clock. She is purring like as kitten with her new Champs.
