Exclamation No power to radio fuse in fuse panel

Hey everyone,

Hoping someone can help me figure out whats wrong. I was replacing the factory shaker 500 radio HU with a pioneer d3. I hooked it up yesterday and it was working fine. took it out today to attach a ipod cable. no power to the radio at all now. I hooked the stock unit back up but again no power.

I used a test light to check my fuses and fuses #20 (radio (start)) and #21 (starter relay) are "bad". swapped the fuses out but still no power to them. I have swapped the fuses with other ones i know are good and still no power to those two slots. Everything else seems to work okay.

What did i break?

Not sure of your system, but my radio also has an inline 80w fuse going to it and the amp. These types of issues are why many people choose to have a stereo shop install their unit. Unless you have the cars schematic & know how the circuit works, your sol. Sorry I couldn't have been more help, good luck.

Check the fuses in the power distribution box (the fuse box in the engine compartment), as well as any fuses that may be part of the aftermarket unit.

+1 this isn't related but I blew an ignition fuse and pulled the fuse for the radio in the fuse box under the hood in order to replace it temporarily. Check the owners manual regarding which fuse is which. Or just start pulling them and look for a blown one.

Was there ever a solution to blazerdude20's problem?

I ask because I am experiencing the same issue after installing a Kenwood ddx419. I reinstalled the Skipper 500 thinking I killed the unit and it too doesn't work. Followed everyone's advice so far on this forum and nothing.

After more than 10 years, he's probably sold the car.
